In collaboration with Bridestory Singapore, we feature a pearl collection for that special day, for that special bride-to-be.
The modern day bride can be ethereal, rustic, romantic without being too OTT if the gown is accessorised with the right choice of jewellery and hair accessories, paired with a beautiful gown and the correct makeup.
Jewellery on your wedding day need not be boring and neither should it clash with your bridal gown and bridal look. When planned properly, it can enhance the bride’s features, and pearls can add that glow to your complexion.
Wearing pearls at night completes the look of elegance without being too garish. A simpler pearl pendant paired with cap-sleeved bridal gown helps even out the proportion of an otherwise empty neckline.

Garnets have good hardness and durability and come in various colours. The gemstone & jewellery industry dedicates a special mention to the Mandarin Spessatite, which ranges from a orange to yellow-orange to deep reddish-orange or a deep orange-red colour. And within this special class of garnets called the Mandarin Spessatites, there is a special locale that produces that signature Tangerine Orange colour. These are the ones from Namibia. In a class of its own.
Namibia produces Spessartites that come in a bright, fiery orange colour. Pure tangerine orange. Not too much yellow, not too much red. Just pure orange, like Tangerines.
It is the Manganese compound that gives the gemstone that bright orange colour. It is best to view Mandarin Spessartites in daylight, as viewing them in yellow light or store light might result in the Spessartite looking more warm in tone than it actually is, making it seem more “orange-y” than it really is.
Below is a stunning, customised set of Mandarin Spessartite jewellery.
What Mandarin Spessatites are famous for is their high lustre, brilliance and best of all, they are normally unheated and untreated. While Mandarin Spessatites do come with some natural inclusions visible to the eye, it is possible to source those that are relatively eye-clean.
2016 is definitely a year for the Spinels as it makes its mark to be added to the list of birthstones. Newly minted as the August birthstone by the Jewelers of America and American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), Spinels have always and will continue to capture the hearts of many. With such a variety of colours available and most Spinels generally being rather eye-clean, having good lustre and ranking 8 on the MOHs scale, they make for fantastic jewellery. Just for reference, Sapphires rank 9 and diamonds rank 10 on the MOHs scale.
We love working with Spinels and featured below is a pink Spinel engagement ring that one can hardly say no to.
Set in beautiful champagne pink gold, this ring is definitely a charmer. Unique choice of gold colour which makes it special as a promise ring. More beautiful than a Pink Sapphire, this bespoke spinel engagement ring is truly magical in its own right. Most spinels are unheat, which makes them all the more to love!
A piece by Heritage Gems: Always classy, forever timeless.
This beautiful, customised wedding band set gives new meaning to the term: Trilogy Wedding Band Set.
Our client who had first customised her unheated sapphire engagement ring with us had subsequently requested a 2-piece stackable diamond wedding band in 18K Rose Gold. This stack allows the bride to wear them singly or together on one 1 finger or one band on each finger.
The groom-to-be had requested for a truly unique wedding band. Looking for a design that reminds him of a river stream and more importantly, preferring a raw, organic look.
Set in a industrial, raw, and unpolished natural gold finish; this wedding band is truly a one-of-a-kind design. As the groom says “no matter which direction I turn my ring, no two facets are the same. So everyday, I see something new. It is truly a unique piece.”
Every element of this entire engagement-cum-wedding band set is 100% natural and borne out of Mother Nature. From the alloy used to create the natural gold band, to the diamonds and finally, the unheated, untreated sapphire.
Truly a romantic and beautiful engagement and wedding set.
Here at Heritage Gems, we craft and build each and every piece of jewellery from scratch, by hand. Preserving the tradition of goldsmithery, our craftsmen wield gold strips and plates though the filing, sawing, forging, soldering process entirely by hand, to create the beauty our clients wear.
Congratulations on being a proud owner of a fine piece of jewellery from Heritage Gems! Our pieces are individually handcrafted to the finest quality standards that will withstand that test of time. However, before you go off and start banging your ring or bracelet on your kitchen sink, one should know by now that fine jewellery deserve to be treated with care and love. So please read on below on tips for caring for your fine jewellery by Heritage Gems.
- LIFO: Last In, First Out. Fine jewellery should usually be the last item you wear before leaving the house and the first item out when arriving back home.
- Avoid doing house chores and manual labour or washing the dishes with fine jewellery (especially those with diamonds or gemstones mounted on).
- Gently wipe jewellery with the cleaning cloth provided by Heritage Gems
- Do not clean jewellery with any type of chemicals, cleaning agents, harsh solvents, harsh liquids
- If, and only if, one has to absolutely wash your jewellery, just rinse with mild hand-soap as how one would wash your hands regularly with mild hand-soap.
- Store your jewellery in the jewellery box that came with during purchase.
Unbeknown to many, while diamonds are durable, they are not invincible to knocks and scratches. Diamonds are able to chip if exposed to knocks over sharp edges or surfaces.
Finally, as with all things, fine jewellery will develop scratches over time which is a natural process of wear and tear. To restore brand new shine to your jewellery, re-plating and polishing is always possible.
Being able to wear one’s engagement ring together with the wedding band seamlessly is a beautiful affair.
We are honoured and had the pleasure of handcrafting this beautiful set of wedding bands and engagement ring for the couple.
Below: Unheated Royal Blue Sapphire and Diamond Ring set in 18K white gold.
This unheat sapphire is almost 3 cts, in a tinge of blue just slightly darker than a medium electric blue. Well-cut and properly faceted means that one is able to see the many facets of the sapphire, even after it has been mounted onto the ring.
Below: When the wedding band is slipped through the finger, it sits seamlessly with the engagement ring, and with no gaps in between both rings. This effect is typically achieved if the request is made with your jeweller right at the onset of customising the engagement ring – that you would wish for your wedding band and engagement ring to sit together seamlessly.
Below: Pair of solid 18K white gold wedding bands with personalised engraving on both wedding bands. While there is no hard and fast rule to the thickness of the wedding bands, here at Heritage Gems, we believe that wedding bands should not be cast too thin. Our wedding bands are crafted in solid gold with good thickness to last you a lifetime.
If you would like to create your seamless engagement-wedding band set, request for this with us at your first appointment so that we can customise both bands to fit each other during the design consultation and discussion stage.
A truly unique engagement ring. Medium electric blue unheat sapphire in a 18K pink gold setting. Not very obvious at first glance that it is set in 18K pink gold. However, do a quick flip of the finger, and the subtle hint of pink gold becomes obvious. The devil is in the details.
This saturated “electric” blue sapphire has a slightly “creamy” lustre and a colour so intense, it beautifully complements that pinkish hue of the ring setting.
Unheat sapphires in this intense blue colour in large sizes (sizes larger than 4 cts) is becoming so increasingly difficult to source. When one chances upon this shade of intense “electric” blue, size and shape as determining criteria start to take a backseat. Quality of a fine gemstone is determined largely by colour, clarity and lustre.

It is possible to create beautiful jewellery with semi-precious gemstones.
Orange moonstones complements the yellow gold beautifully – sprinkled with an assortment of rubies, yellow sapphires, amethysts creating a very unique pair of ear studs.
This pair of ear studs carry well from day to evening wear elegantly without being too garish.
